Water.

Up to 60% of the human adult body is water. According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water.

I like to start with research to ignite the interest in your brain into thinking hey this is important! It is important for a few good reasons one being that your body, specifically the brain and heart are made up of 73% water, and you are still not drinking enough water. Why!?

What does it have to do with self-worth? You are on some level still convinced that you are not worth taking the time to nourish your body, especially your heart and brain. This is a common belief within people largely women that do not drink enough water, dehydration is the easiest thing to fix in the body and yet can cause so many problems at the same time. So why torture yourself it seems so simple, drink more water.

It isn’t simple when the belief system gets in the way, how many times a day do you say

  1. I don’t have time to drink water aka- (I don’t deserve rest, I am unworthy of rest)
  2. I can’t afford clean water that is better for me.  Aka- (I don’t deserve to take care of my body or spend money on myself, I am unworthy of receiving that gift.)
  3. I just can’t drink that much water I don’t like water aka- (I am a victim to my childlike behavior, I don’t deserve to take control over my life.)
  4. Its not really that important, I get plenty of other liquids aka- (I am in denial about my low self-worth) I’ll keep pretending everything is ok when its not.
  5. I will start drinking more water tomorrow aka- (I procrastinate because I am not worth putting the effort in for myself.)

Maybe one or all of these can be something you relate to. Or maybe you are way cool like me and get all 5. I like to go all in ya know😊

So, the shift happens when we are sick and tired of putting ourselves last and sick and tired of acting like we are not worth the time. I noticed that every person I work with who has low self-wroth or lack of confidence is dehydrated. They have little energy and only do the bare minimum of requirements of the day. If we would take care of ourselves better, then everything around us would go smoother.

The clarity came to me when I was thinking of a list. I wanted to write down the things that are a priority to me. My list

  1. Work- Clients
  2. Home life organization
  3. Kids overall balance and health
  4. Taking care of more people
  5. Finding ways to help more people faster

My list is interesting. Not one thing on my list revolved around me and until someone pointed that out I could have written all day long before I realized there was still no priority for myself.  Wow that was an eye opener. Being a work obsessed person I thought was ok because it was in the name of health and I twisted my brain to think that putting all that I have first before myself was ok if it was for the sake of something good. Not to be dramatic its just water, right? Wrong! its not just water, it is your self-worth and beliefs about who you are.

NOW I Say

  1. I deserve to take care of myself. – aka I am a boss babe!
  2. I have time to take care of me. – aka I am a great mom!
  3. I spend what I want to on my health because I am irreplaceable. – aka I am responsible for my health and worth the investment.
  4. I am aware of how good it is for me to drink water and how much it will benefit me. – aka I am worth learning how to take care of my body.
  5. I am irreplaceable, important and worth the time and effort.

If you are an overly emotional or unstable person. If you are crying over simple things and cannot handle anything that comes your way, if you have a hard time with confrontation and confidence. You should start taking in more water and healing your emotional body. You are worth being strong, energized and beautiful!
